Who is this punk?

Hey, I'm Matt! I'm a web designer and developer in Edmonton, Alberta.

Ever seen a guy code while headbanging? It looks a bit silly, but I promise it helps. All my ridiculous ideas need to be shaken loose sometimes and there's no better way to get those ideas flowing than a dose of heavy music. Whether it's progressive death metal, post-metal or punk rock there's always a thrashy riff or double-kick drum beat that accompanies my work. As many of my classmates know, I've thanked the power of metal for helping me through difficult assignments and long days, and I do my best to reinforce the stereotype that metalheads are shockingly polite and friendly. As a mohawk hairstyle ambassador I've helped show those around me that while the hairstyle is rad as hell, the person rocking it is dependable, approachable and always willing to help out.

Apart from my killer style and immaculate taste in music, I've stood out in my time at NAIT as a student who was always enthusiastic, always engaged with the instructors and course materials, and always handed in high quality work. I have taken great pride in my work, and have put the time in to ensure each assignment well made and unique. This hard work has been rewarded with a 4.0 GPA, a scholarship, and a place on the deans list. Several of my assignment submissions are also being shown to students as positive examples.

I thoroughly enjoy coming up with eccentric designs and concepts, then learning how to make those ideas functional. From an Adobe Illustrator guide festooned with space raccoons, to a Communist Revolution inspired recipe sharing blog, to a horror-themed photoshoot my projects at NAIT have always been unique and a little ridiculous. Outside of the classroom I've been involved in the creation of the YEG Jr Developers group and its event planning.
